Belvedere via 1st dibs

Glamorous is the word that immediately comes to mind when browsing the inventory at Belvedere. With an emphasis on elegant mid-20th century furniture and decorations, pieces range from classic modernist basics to those of understated glamour, all with a focus on beauty, comfort, and function. Their inventory highlights the work of many of the period’s better known designers, as well as those who are just now being rediscovered. Finally, Belvedere features a selection of contemporary offerings that compliment our vintage aesthetic; these designs are destined to be the treasures of the future.

USA 1950’s- Copper glazed ceramic lamp. I would love this on a table next to a deep scarlet linen velvet sofa.

USA 1950’s- button-tufted slipper chairs. The shape and scale is so chic. With a small cocktail table between them this would be the perfect spot for cocktails with a friend. I would love to upholster them in a lavender mohair.

USA 1940’s scrolled mirror finished in gold and silver leaf- the lines are beautiful. This could be hung anywhere and would be particularly fun in a powder room.

USA 1950’s- Pair of Foo Dog Lamps. There are many reproduction foo dog lamps on the market right now and I think they are all fun in their own way. The below pair are stunning. The silver leaf with the soft brown patina brings the carvings to life. The carvings have a high visual impact- very intricate and three dimensional. The lucite bases add some feminine glamour.

USA 1960’s- Fabulous hexagonal side tables in silver gilt- just plain pretty.

Petite dresser/ bedside tables wrapped in parchment. The scale of these tables is perfect for a manhattan bedroom. The curve of the bottom and the nickle plated key hole makes these tables special.

USA 1950’s wave dresser- Va- Va- Voom…look at those curves!! The deep espresso stain still allows the grain of the wood to show through making this a bit more sophisticated than a straight lacquer. The pulls are equally unique. This would be a statement piece in a dining room but is versatile enough to sit anywhere.
